History

After World War II, Putten found itself in need of a swimming pool. Local contractor G. Knoppert and tiler A. de Bruin made plans based on the Kristalbad in Apeldoorn. After permission from the city council, construction began in June 1948. Almost a year later, the NV Bosbad Klein Zwitserland was created. Knoppert came up with this name because the appearance and atmosphere of the pool, with its white plastered buildings and thatched roofs, had something un-Puttens. On May 24, 1949, the first people took a dip in the pool.

Bosbad has regularly gone through difficult times since then, but good times always followed. In 2020, the latest investment took place. With the construction of a magnificentwhitewater course whitewater course, Bosbad has become a major attraction. A guarantee for over 110 meters of sliding fun! Also, Bosbad Putten has become more sustainable and the pool has been gas-free ever since. The temperatures of the pool water, as well as in the accommodation are realized by a heat pump. There are over 300 solar panels on the roof. Partly because of the beautiful and fun attractions and the sustainability Bosbad Putten is counted among the ten best swimming pools in the Netherlands.
